Home and garden is a wide sector where bulky freight, seasonality and market-specific safety rules matter more than the unit price. Treat each sub-area as its own buying problem, because a candle, a sofa and a bottle of detergent need very different checks.

The sector covers goods for the inside and outside of a home, and the sub-areas differ in how they are sourced. Think in four groups.
Choose which group you are buying for before you compare suppliers, because the right questions differ.
Most home goods are lightly regulated, but several areas are not. Items that contact food need food-contact documentation. Electrical products such as lamps, string lights and garden tools need the electrical and radio marks for your market, for example CE in Europe. Upholstered furniture and children's furniture can face fire-resistance rules. Cleaning chemicals face labelling and registration rules. Candles and fragrance products carry their own labelling requirements. Rules vary, so check the rules for your market for every product group you stock, and ask suppliers for test reports instead of verbal assurances.
The sector has a clear calendar. Garden and outdoor lines peak in spring and early summer, home decor, candles and textiles peak before the end-of-year gifting period, and cleaning goods sell steadily with a spring lift. Factories need orders well ahead of those peaks. Plan staged deliveries where possible and budget for clearing leftovers after the season.
Many home products are bulky relative to their value, and freight can erode margin. Always ask for carton dimensions, weights and units per pallet or container before you compare prices. Sets, dozens and master cartons are common, and minimums apply per design, not only per order. Fragile goods such as glass, ceramic and mirrors need proper export packaging and an agreed damage policy.
Plain, easily compared products tend to carry thin margins because online shoppers compare prices quickly. Styled, giftable and exclusive designs hold more margin but carry trend risk. Branded goods may be exposed to counterfeit and grey-market stock, so ask for proof of authorised supply when the price looks unusually low.
What to ask any supplier
Food-contact items, electrical products, upholstered and children's furniture, candles and cleaning chemicals need the most attention. Rules differ by market, so check them for yours and request test reports.
Work back from the selling peak and allow for production and shipping time, which can be long. Ask suppliers for order deadlines and staged deliveries, and plan how you will clear remaining stock.
Many items are bulky or heavy relative to their price. Compare landed cost including freight, not only the factory price, using the carton size and units per pallet.
Start with a sample and a small mixed order, check packing and quality on arrival, and then reorder. Confirm the damage policy and certificates before you pay a large deposit.
WholesalersCatalog currently lists 61 suppliers for this search. Each profile shows a Trust Score, so you can see what has been checked before you get in touch.
The largest groups are in United Kingdom (18), United States (11), Canada (4) and Netherlands (3).
Among suppliers that publish a minimum order, the lowest is no minimum and the median is no minimum. Minimums can vary by product, so confirm them with the supplier.
7 suppliers here list dropshipping (11% of this page).
Check the company registration and street address, ask for trade references and start with a sample or small order. Be careful with suppliers who only accept untraceable payment methods. The Trust Score on each profile shows which of these signals we could confirm.
